Ortuseight officially launched
Codex, the second walking-shoe in the Marvel Special Edition series, to be
released in early October 2024. The inspiration source for the design of this
Codex series is one of Marvel's fan-favorite characters, Venom, and this
article is the second product launched under the walking-shoe category.
"In response to the
positive response to the first Marvel Special Edition release by Ortuseight
throughout the end of 2023, this year we are launching a new Marvel Special
Edition. We hope this will add diversity to the Ortuseight collection in the

Similar to the previous
walking-shoe series, Codex is designed using the Hyperblast outsole from
running shoes, supported by upper material that explores a casual style, making
it comfortable for everyday use. By highlighting the combination of function,
comfort, speed, and style, Codex becomes an ideal choice for outdoor activities
or fashion enthusiasts.
"Codex represents
power, which we wanted to channel to become fuel and motivation for us to keep
moving, keep fighting, and inspire strength and determination in the wearers,"
said Octrisany D. Putra, Product Design Manager at Ortuseight. With a full
black design and a typical symbiote visual pattern, the spirit of this Codex is
translated into the shoe's body and midsole that is also dark in color.
In terms of technology, Codex
is equipped with OrtFlow, ventilated engineered mesh technology for effective
and maximum airflow, which regulates airflow within the shoe so that your feet
stay cool, as well as the use of sandwich mesh and split suede leather
materials for the upper portion. Meanwhile, in the midsole, there is OrtShox
technology, a technology on insoles that follows the contour of the shoe's
sole, providing a perfect grip from the foot to the inner sole, allowing the
foot to step comfortably on a soft but responsive cushion. This technology also
provides good grip from the foot to the inner sole to prevent slipping. There
is also CumulusFoam, a soft and lightweight midsole that is capable of damping
foot shock to the ground, preventing knee injuries while making users feel like
they are walking on clouds. Finally, Codex's midsole material is made of
compression phylon and the outsole is made of Rubber Hardness 55.
